Second Green Flag bid for Barton upon Humber
Baysgarth Park in Barton already boasts an internationally recognised Green Flag Award and a second area of the town is bidding to add another.
The Humber Bridge Viewing Area has been entered for the Award and visitors will have seen recent improvements to the area. North Lincolnshire Council manage the area but they have recently been helped by the “Friends of Barton Parks” who have agreed to extend their activities within the Humber Bridge Viewing Area.
The Green Flag Award scheme is managed by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. It recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the UK and around the world.
North Lincolnshire have further Green Flag Awards for Central Park, Kingsway Gardens, Sheffield Park and Woodlands Memorial Park in Scunthorpe and this year they are also entering Jubilee Park in Ashby.
